Just bought a 1949 issues of National Geographic which featues the
"Skyline Trail from Maine to Georgia"  a fancy name for the At.
Any way do any of you know Norma  Owens a ballet dancer  from Chattanooga TN
mentioned in that article.  It would be nice to meet her if she still lives in Chattanooga
and invite her and the others to Dartmouth this year if they are still alive.

This article has a nice mention of Earl Shaffer.
YOu should see the light weight nylon tent pictured in htis article just weighting
10 and 1/2 pounds.  It's a hoot.
