The missus and I mourn the tragic loss of your cheerios, buddy: ah feels yo
pain. And as for Mrs. Hopeful's heartless remark ( ;-) ), well, all great
inventors have run into flak from their better halves at one time or
another. In your case, it really sucks... Don't lose heart: the fate of the
hiker world hangs on the outcome of your venture.

If you can spring for a plastic PVC valve for plumbing, you know, one of
those with a large flat red handle, that fits in line with your vacuum hose
and your crevice tool, you can regulate your vacuum. I dunno, just an
idea...
