Not true. Socialism often works, but within a framework that also
values individual initiative and productivity - where the social
contract provides a safety net, not a hammock or a pit.

The US has several good examples of this, as well as several examples
of poorly implimented means of deregulation or intervention. We even
have several examples of where market economy/capitalism has been boon
as well as bust.

Grey is the color of the real world. Black and white extremes rarely
survive beyond the next election. Of course, those who do not vote only
get a default result.
