My husband and I are planning to thruhike the AT starting March 10th.  Here are some questions:
   How available is water that doesn't have to be filtered?    Does anyone have some suggestions on a filter?

How close are post offices to the trail?  Is it possible to re-supply every 5 days without going more than a mile or two from the main trail?

Does anyone have any suggestions on rain gear and outerwear for the cold snowy weather we have heard we will run into in Georgia in March?
