[at-l] Winter backpacking question

Quick question:

Any tips for staking out a non-freestanding tent in
the frozen ground? I've used the rocks-and-rope
method, threading rope through the tent holes and
wrapping it around rocks to "stake" it out, but that
can be a little tedious, not to mention problematic if
all the rocks are buried under snow.

Any experience with "snow stakes?" Any other tips?

Much appreciated... Can't wait to get back out in the
woods this winter...
