[at-l] Spruce Gum

My wife and I were working on Christmas gifts for her family's Christmas
gathering tonight. Each year we make up a small  gift for each family (she
has 10 brothers and sisters), so everyone does a home made thing. This year
we decided to do home made candy and cookies.
My wife was raised just across the Swift River from Gum Corner, so we
thought it would be fun to include Spruce Gum in each basket, so we spent a
lot of time last summer gathering spruce gum.

That got me to wondering, have any of you tried spruce gum on any of your
hikes?
