*** Actually I found Redhead's post kind of vague and pointless as
far as its meaning. My strained understanding of her post was that airplane
noise is a good reason to back off any attempt at keeping the AT wild.
Especially in more direct areas where real threats are confronting the
corridor. I also derived that anyone who gets to the point is "scummy" and
that those who make long sentimental posts calling for undefined fuzziness
that leads away from difficult discussion of real environmental issues is OK
-even though the reason for that isn't really clearly explained.

I think too many people have mistaken "muddling through" for actually
having done anything. Meanwhile, a person who did manage to make a
difference, and was acknowledged for it by multiple AT involved authorities,
sits bankrupted by a community that is a little too satisfied with itself for
what it is actually doing in terms of the real Trail, and not some fantasy
dimension of same...

"What it's all about???" It isn't tolerated very well. Sorry...
