I am planning on starting the AT this comming August and hopefully end in J=
anuary going southbound.  I have been told that by January the Smokies will=
 have a lot of snow and make hiking nearly impossible.  Is this true???  If=
 anyone has done the AT on this schedule I would really like to "hear your =
tale."  Thanks for your help.
