Optical zoom uses the lens to pull in the image.  Digital zoom is nothing
more than cropping the image.  I.E. If you had a 2 megapixel camera and
shot a photo at 2X digital zoom you'd have a 1 megapixel image.  At 2X
optical zoom, it is still 2 megapixels.
