[at-l] your most favorite



The truth of the matter is, the stove isn't the limiting factor, it's the
fuel you are willing to carry. In reality the kids, apparently know more
than the average LD Hiker, that claims to be a backpacker.
But since you want to prove them wrong, no problem. Your never out more than
a couple of days with kids so the amount of alcohol isn't a problem.
If you are using the Wal-Mart grease pot, throw away the plastic knob on the
cover, and replace it with a couple of nuts and a bolt. Once you do that you
not only have a pot, but you also have an oven.  Build a twig fire on the
cover and heat the bottom  with alcohol to bake ( like pizza or cake). You
can cook anything you want on a soda can stove, as long as the amount of
alcohol isn't a consideration.
