[at-l] Knee braces - recommendations?

Mara,

Reference your post, dated 11-2-02, advising "... it might be kind of late
(tonight) ..." and requesting "... specific recommendations and/or warnings
about particular brands or materials in their braces?"

Let me repeat what I believe you've written: YOUR PHYSICIAN prescribed knee
braces for you, BUT, you're asking US for recommendations.

I think you're right; it must be getting "kind of late."

You hiked. Your knees are showing signs of wear. You plan to continue
hiking. You don't appear satisfied with your physician's advice. You need
to find an orthopedic surgeon, in whose expertise you feel confident;
perhaps one who is very familiar with hikers, and disorders of hiker's knees
and feet.

Get some sleep. Tackle this problem again, in the morning.

All the best.

Steve

P.s. The end should not be that you no longer hike because you cannot walk,
rather you continue to walk just fine long after your interests change.
