[at-l] Re: shuttles in Jan?

Hey everyone-

Thanks for such a warm welcome to the list! I recieved many email abou=
t
the shuttle deal and I think I have arranged one with NightHawk (who I had
corresponded with before outside of this list- its a small world). As for
my gear list, soon I will type out an updated one and post it. Right now i=
t
is an old excel sheet with many items that I changed, scratched out and
edited. I will try to get it up here by the weekend. To let you in on a
little hint, I make a lot of my gear so that is how I was able to get my
pack weight down for a very reasonable cost. No expensive sleeping bags or
tents for me! :) Just a little more background about me: As I said before,
plan to start my hike on January 2nd, 2003! I was originally planning on
staying atop Springer for New Years, but I am traveling back to
Houston(where I live) from Wisconsin(grandparents) on the 31st. I am
eighteen and I am currently finishing up my last eight weeks of my senoir
year in high school(WOOOHOOO!). When I was a sophomore I found out that I
could graduate a semester early and I decided it would be the perfect time
for a thruhike attempt. Some of you may be thinking "why in the world is h=
e
starting so early!?!" Well, last summer I spent two months volunteering
with the Maine Trail Crew. I enjoyed it so much that I want to go back for
an assistant crew leader position. That position starts on ~May 18, hence
the early start date. By the way did anyone on this list volunteer for them
this summer? When that is done in August, I will head off to college. Well
that probably more information than you really wanted... Thanks again for
the warm welcome

Peace,

Ron
