[at-l] Boy Scout Shelter in Central VA

actually - a few nice tentsites w/ a pavilian and picnic table ( and of
course a privy ) would be nice.... and an interesting break from the usual.
esp since there are other shelters near by. I recall tenting many times
and just wishing they had a gravel floored, covered picnic table area nearby
for cooking & eating. besides - aren't the boy scouts more about tenting vs
sitting in a leanto ;-)

I was there last year - it didn't seem too bad - but I had some other trashy
shelters to compare it to ( like walnut mountain ) I remember it seemed a
very very *long* building in comparison to other shelters, but was in a nice
location and it did have a spring that was running.

Odd, that they would rebuild a falling down shelter with others so close.
Does the present site even have water? I suppose the donation was earmarked
for this project, but it seems like a waste of valuable, limited resources,
time and money.

I think they should raze it and make a couple level campsites in the area.
Of course, this is only my humble opinion!
