 I  really  don''t  know the answer, but it may have been Dave Field, former ATC
 and MATC president. Dave has maintained several miles in that area since he was
 a  teenager.  He remains active in MATC matters and is hardly an "old timer" by
 AT  standards. If you start maintaining at age 15 or so, you have a lot of time
 before reaching "old age."
