But that person was referring in jest to my comments about the Smokies being
called the Smokies long before industrial pollution began to affect the
Smokies.  & The comment that apparently trees release their own form of
pollutants -- ozone and others.  Which from a distance can give the Smokies
a Smoky appearance.

And I did that to balance the cites I gave for some sites that mention the
latest pollution report.  I know there is a significant industrial pollution
factor.  But maybe the reason that GSMNP is worse than Los Angeles is that
it would be only as bad as LA if not for the tree factor.  Which in no way
lessens the industrial problem.
