The "vegan" is in this case both a description and a name.  It
describes what they're (not) made from ... okay, I'll say it, "dead
cows."  Garmont also uses the word  as the name of that item in
their brand line-up.  So unless it says "Vegan" on the label, it isn't
vegan.
