Its a fact that ALL people can be grouped into a specific personality type.
And each personality type has different things that bore or excite them.
although the interest of hiking may be common among persons of different P =
Types, some P Types REQUIRE the stimulation of other people, events, ect...=
while others find themselves perfectly content without such external stimu=
lation.

If your P Type is that of one who loves getting together with a group of pe=
ople twice a week for a night on the town, then a LD hike may become boring=
 to you.
one the other hand, If your P Type is one that allows you to find excitemen=
t in individual achievements, then you should find that boredom seldom come=
s in anything you do.

This isn't just MY interpretation, it is rather a well documented psycholog=
ical fact.
Myers Briggs is the leading group studying this. http://www.knowyourtype.c=
om/faq.html

I would love to know if those that find LD hiking boring are of a certain P=
 Type.

Serious question...since you refer to never in your life,
is it possible that this could be a physical thing? I mean
  a bio-chemical brain function thing?

If some people are never bored and some people are always bored
could there not be some bio medical, brain chemical observable
quantifiable difference? There are receptors in the brain just
awaiting to be stimulated. Maybe some people's receptors are
  more easily tickled?
