[at-l] Southern Ridicule

I think its more than half. I grew up in the Heart of Dixie - Montgomery
Alabama - and am one of those that consider New Orleans to be way South. I
live just north of what I used to consider a "northern" city - Atlanta. I
also consider these jokes to be really funny. If you can't laugh at
yourself you need to go out and hike some more.

I remember my dad telling me to "go to the garage!. That's where I was
going to get a "switchin" - and I had to pick out the switch from a switch
bush next to the garage. Usually it was me and my brother - and he'd always
pick the smallest switch and I'd always pick the biggest. Dad would always
swap them. My brother never caught on... heh heh :-)

On another note - I went hiking on the Jacks River in the Cohutta Wilderness
last weekend and the water was way, way, waaaaay down. You could almost
make some crossings without getting your feet wet. Many creeks that drained
into the river were completely dry. We did get some rain Friday and
Saturday but it didn't make a dent in the drought.

Half of them are coming from folks that ARE southern like myself.
