[at-l] Question

this one made me laugh and remember an experiment we did in Bacteriology
class in college.

we pressed our fingers in petri dishes and then let the stuff grow. we did
several sets during the day stopping by between other classes & meals. you
wouldn't believe how much CRUD there is on your 'so-called clean' hands -
even AFTER washing. Washing twice seems to do better than washing once.
something about the dual soap, rinse, soap, rinse cycle grew less little
guys. For some, a single soap, rinse was actually WORSE than their
pre-washing dish! THAT was an eye opener. In nursing school they told us
its something about the first wash taking the oil layer off and exposing
more bact's that were between the skin & oil, since the oil layer would
often rise above the little critters on your skin.? washing once, removed
the oil & left critters, the second cycle took the critters. I'm not sure I
would have believed them if it hadn't been for that experiment in Bact
class.

like on the hand cleaner mess where I've bitten my
toungue off several times wanting to say something like: "get real,"
dirt and germs are everywhere, and yer hands will never stay germ-free
for more than 5 minutes anyway no matter what ya try to do! :)

Hike, report, and clean on!
