Summer is over but I had a great one.  I hiked in the Whites in the pouring=
 rain.  I hiked the Smokies in the sun.  My young nephews backpacked with m=
e at Standing Indian.  They did 7 miles a day and barely complained!  Then =
I headed out west and did 270 miles on the PCT.  Next year I plan to spend =
the entire month of July on the PCT and do 500 (or more) miles.  I met Holl=
y Hobbie (96) and we hiked together for a week.  We both met Firefly at the=
 Mt Lassen/Shasta overlook and took pictures.  Firefly is hiking south with=
 Gipetto. My nephews asked to hike in the Smokies so we will hike from Font=
ana to Newfound Gap next summer.  They did so well this year I think they'r=
