As one of us burly types (yeh, right), I do all three and find that the only
difference is generally how I smell at the end of the day. They all are good
exercise and they all allow one to see stuff that the average person will
never see as they are nowhere near a road. All three are also part of my 15
year thruhike concept (remember, it's no longer a plan) of the AT.

Depends a lot on whether I want to sit on a rock at the end of the day and
drink in the stars or sit on a deck at the end of the day and drink down a
Heineken.

BTW - in response to Mara's note, I drove up Mt Washington last August,
walked about halfway back down and had the family pick me up there, so yes,
you can take a walk at Mt Washington and it was a walk (no day pack, no
nothing).
