Socks? You mean you have to wear them in a boot?
I am using a Bridgedale sock and either a Bridgedale or REI liner sock.
The boot sock is part number 11330-70-L at www.sierratradingpost.com, if
you go to the home page look about halfway down the left side and there
is a place to search by catalog number.
The liner socks are Gobi Polypro from REI
http://www.rei.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=82&prmenbr=
8000&cgrfnbr=4501316 or a Bridgedale liner sock, part number 11106-03-S
at Sierra Trading Post (well...not exactly, mine are a large size but
it's the same brand/model).
I tend to wear the REI liner more often than the Bridgedale because I
had more pain in the arch with the Bridgedale...hmmm...you might be on
to something with the liner being the culprit.

What are you using for socks? This would be the first thing
I'd think about changing. Next, grind off a LITTLE bit of
the surface under the arch on the BOTTOM side of the insert.
JUST A LITTLE AT A TIME.
