[at-l] Trip Report

(with a full pack) and maybe 1500 ft. per hour with a day pack.

This is just FYI and for the at-l group:

The time estimates in the White Mountain guide book are based on the
following: 30 mins for each mile + 30 mins for each 1000 altitude
gain. Altitude gain is not cumulative along a trail segment but is
measured between the beginning and end points. The formula also
assumes the hiker is not backpacking, but carrying a daypack.

Since everyone is different hikers will, after a series of hikes,
establish a percentage to apply to "book time". Some years ago this
was 50% for me, but that percentage number has unfortunately been
creeping upwards.
