Ted,
Reference your post, dated July 8, 2002, detailing the efforts taken by "
... an American Native, Cherokee ... spreading her (mother's) ash remains."
A friend of mine died. He had requested to be cremated and his ashes
distributed in three places. One was into a river in New Mexico which he
loved. Those who carried his ashes to the river discovered snow on the
ground and the river frozen over near its banks. The ice was not thick
enough, however, to support anyone, so no one could reach the water.
They eventually solved the problem, placed his ashes into snowballs and
threw them, over ice and snow, into the water. My friend would have been
elated. I'm sorry he had to miss it.
