Reference your post, dated July 6, 2002.

You believe, "The topic really isn't 'OT' as it concerns the decisions 
hikers make regarding prevention versus treatment of insect vector 
illnesses."

My post was not directed as much to the "topic" of Hummingbird's post, as it 
was to the "directness of (her) comment ..."  I appreciated her spare 
phraseology.  I designated the post as "OT" because it does not concern 
pesky insects, nor the merits of measures taken to reduce their irritation.  
I apologize for any misunderstanding I caused.  I doubt you are urging 
anyone to "eat" DEET, let alone "jet airplanes."

I also appreciate the information you provided, and the consideration you 
applied to it, in your post.
