This was the best part of an already wonderful trip story!!!!  Congrats on 
handling the situation so well!!!  As for future hikes........any chance you 
know another woman with a daughter his age?  I think maybe he wouldn't be so 
quick to give up if there was someone there to impress!  *VBG*  Just a 
thought!!!
    I am wishing you well on your next hike!  And by the way.......are you 
ok?!  I hope the accident wasnt' too bad!!!  Anna
