[at-l] the measure of list civility: who's "no-mail"??

About half the ~375 direct-post listers are actually "no-mail"
-- they have their mail turned off and no longer receive the
list.

About half of the ~375 digest listers are similarly "no-mail".

Advice? Pah! We've let recent requests for info on logistics and
gear go by without comment. Communion? Phooey! We have a Blister
Sister getting married and no one shouting "woo-hoo!"

We have a marvelous crop of new listers whose curiousity goes
unnoticed and whose enthusiasm goes unnurtured, except in a
pervasive climate of unabashed animosity. Why? Some think the
current climate -- typical of the past year -- is typical for
the list; it is not. Take a look at who's posting; most listers
are lurkers; they have voted with their feet and left. They've
taken their mileage and their experience with 'em, leaving us
with voices in inexperience and wholey vacuous references toward
having respect for one's audience or unrestrained free speech;
but no one hears the now-drowned pleas for respecting the
audience through *self*-restraint.

Pray that the atml gets up and running.
