[at-l] Slippery pack straps

I had the same problem. You don't have the back stay adjusted "just
right" for your back yet. Here is what to do.

Load up your pack for a 3 day hike. Find a starting place for about 1-2
miles and at least 2000 foot climb. Go walk.

A third of the way up, everything has shifted and is loose. Find out
where by putting your hand between your back and the pack. If you have
a friend with you, mark that spot. Take off the pack, sit down and
unload the pack. Find the marked spot and locate that on the stays.
Bend the stays outward (toward your back) and reload. Tighten
everything up again, and start with the hand between the back and pack
again until it begins to fit like a glove.

You may have to do this another time or two before you get to the top
of your trail (Tray Mt. did it for me), but by the time you get there,
all of the harnesses, belt, straps and stays will fit perfectly and
never slide again. They only slide when not under tension. If your
Kelty Flight is shifting at all, it is not fitted to you. When it fits,
consider trying out the small web belt. I was surprised how well it
felt and works, with some weight savings.

I also found substituting the included pad wrapped around the stays
with my 3/4 length Guidelight mat pad made for a more stable and
comfortable fit. Try to do this with a goal of the bottom of the pack
near the top of your back pocket, as this seems to make the shoulder
adjustments easier to change for up and down hill climbs. You may need
to adjust the belt up or down a bit, but the hassle pays off well.
