[at-l] New Balance 805's for a thru-hike?

I completely respect your shoe report but you are the first person I have
ever talked to that doesn't notice the slump in quality that peaked about 2
years ago compared to about 5 years ago. We all had a nice complaining
sessions on Back Packing light, every hiker I come across complained about
the failing toe box in the shoe, the area at the joint of the big toe and
joint of small toe splitting open. And the biggest complaint being the heal
on the inside of the shoe breaking and that hard plastic that you have to
remove because it digs into your foot. The funniest thing is my father who
is a runner has been wearing NB for as long as I can remember buy his shoes
retro. He has a running shoe company that sells old shoes that are still
new. Like they actually bought a ton of shoes in the early 90's and you can
order them... I couldn't stop laughing.
