[at-l] Trip report - 2 down, 12 to go, RSC chili, bobcats and "Trouble" the wonder dog

Got back last night from GA/NC, round two.

Trip stats:

1650 miles in the car
51 odd miles on the trail - including putting GA in the bank along with MD.

Friday, May 17 - Enroute to Franklin to meet my brother for round two, I
stopped in at Trail Days. Got there around 9:30 p.m. and realized what an
insane idea it was to try and drop in and find some of the gang (several
thousand tents and people ambling about - quite a sight). Wandered about a
bit and had given up and was headed back to my motel on I-81 when I decided
to stop by the Italian joint on the main drag. Felix was there. He pointed
me to Ms Janet's campsite and I found her mixing Long Island tea for the
gang. Red and others were reportedly around somewhere so I told Janet if she
could round up the gang we'd do breakfast at 8 before I headed down the road
next morning.

Saturday, May 18 - Stopped by the next morning but everybody was still
snoozing so I headed on to NC. Met my brother in Franklin that afternoon to
spot cars and prep for the hike. We drove his car with day packs up to Wayah
Bald. The plan was to backpack from Dicks Creek to there and the dayhike
into Wesser (more on that later - by now everybody knows that my plans are -
fluid - shall we say).

to be continued when I am more coherent.....

Hike happy -
