[at-l] Trail Daze - Virtual?

Count me in. My lil sis is having her first child, and tomorrow's her baby
shower, so I couldn't walk away for fun at TD. We're going out for dinner and
hitting the local comedy club tonight. After her being overseas for a decade,
it's a blast having a sister within a 15 minute drive.

I did get out and hike today, now 2/3 done with the 23 miles of trail at
Paynes Prairie State Park. Most of the trails are in the sun. If you don't
like slithery creatures, don't hike there...seen more alligators in the wild
in the past couple of days than I've ever seen anywhere outside a 'gator
farm. Hundreds. Got close-up to a humongous soft-shell turtle today, and
greeted a couple of snakes (rat snake and black racer) yesterday. Marsh rats,
marsh rabbits, dozens of lizards, sandhill cranes, several species of herons,
mom & dad wild turkey herding their babies, mom & baby deer...the park is a
wildlife bonanza.

So, I'll pitch my virtual tent by the river and expect to see a baby 'gator
(if not a ferret) near it in the morn...

Cheers, Navigator
