   ...Just checkin' in from Erwin, taking a day off at the delightful Miss Janet's; all's well after 30 days out; no particular woes other than than incipient middle age.......geez, I'd forgetten how HARD this is...... looking forward to the next stretch---north outta here, Roan Mountain, Culvers Gap, Overmountain Shelter, etc, then a couple days off with with Bob at Kincora, then an easy cakewalk to Trail Daze and some serious time down.  Hope to see some of you there, or somewhere else down the line....big hello to Kampfire if he's out there somewhere; seems I met him exactly five years ago (and maybe a thousand extra ones) in Erwin, a long, long time ago, back when the world was young.  

    Gotta run, many hikers panting to get on this machine, computers are scare hereabouts.  Regards----Jack
