If I have a ride to the parking area on USFS road 42 and hike to the top of 
Springer Mt to begin my hike next March...Do I need to carry my fully loaded 
packed those 2 miles...(up and back to the parking area)????  Of course 
someone else could carry it up and i could carry it down and remain 
untainted. (a word for you Teresa) But then again ..Am I a wennie for not 
doing the approach trail?
