Hi Jan,

I sure had a good time on the A.T.
My intention was to hike 250 miles from Waynesboro VA to Boiling Springs PA.
What ended up happening was my left foot developed an 'underskin bacterial
infection' which stopped me dead in my tracks 100 miles short of my goal.
I'm still on the med's the Doctor prescribed for treatment.
I'm now looking forward to this fall to hike the remaining 100 miles from
Harpers Ferry WV to Boiling Springs. For a breif moment I was down in the
dumps about the whole thing, but only for a moment!  What I've realized is
the truth of that corny saying that the "joy" is in the "journey" itself. My
dream of section-hiking the whole AT is still alive! No "PKD" for me (yet).
(do section-hikers get PKD?)
