Slip fix.  Cascade Designs sells (or at least they used to.. I have some
on my table in front of me right now) a product called Slip Fix.  It's
in a can.  You spray it on, and it makes the thermarest more grippy.

I wouldn't use too much.  I made my first thermarest too grippy and 
didn't like it.  And all I could do was wait for the stuff to wear off.
It took a loooong time.
