pittsburgh 1100am 04/23/02

sitting in the three-sided privy at hogback ridge shelter, with wonderful view of AT ridgeline ahead.  shelter is old and small, maybe holding six hikers.  water is looooong quarter mile hike, so i have opted not to go.  i'll hopefully find water after sams gap - should have enough till then...

stopped early yesterday, at a nifty little un-named gap.  i remember taking a break there in '97.  pitched my tent, then sat and read, then ate, then read some more, then collapsed into the tent and read some more, then drifted off to sleep before dark, then woke in the middle of the night and finished the book, then slept again.  what a marvelous time...
