I was at Cosby Knob last weekend (1 day south of Davenport). The hikers
verified what you are saying. They said it is impossible to sleep near
the bear cables in the park since the beasts swat at the cables all
night. It makes the packs bob up and down until they come out of the
hooks. It is amazing to me that the bears could be so smart.
