[at-l] Need Summer Section Hike Advice

Trail Snail,

With my bias toward sequential sectioneering, I would recommend that you
pick up where you left off. You're likely to find it hot wherever you go in
the South. It would be a great accomplishment to complete Georgia, and if
your goal is to hike more (or all) over time, sequential order works well.
That's how I started in Georgia in 1989, and I've made it to the Whites.
I'll attempt them this year in July (the temps might be cooler there).

Gary from Fairfax, the list's official globetrotter (Gary, are you here or
at some exotic locale?), hiked Hiawassi to the Nantahala at NOC last year,
and might have some insight on that section.

Take Care,

Tim Rich

Subject: [at-l] Need Summer Section Hike Advice

I'm a long time lurker who just returned to the list.
My daughter and I have done a couple of spring break
section hikes that just about covered Georgia. I now
find myself with a week or two around July 4 to do
another section. My question is: Should we continue
where we left off (Dick's Creek Gap), or should we go
somewhere further north/cooler? I've never been in
that area in the summer. What's it like?

Thanks in advance for any info/opinions,
