[at-l] RE: Tent COlor was : Part 7 - Tent Selection

IMHO -- Visual pollution is inconsiderate of others. I know many folk don't
care about other folk, but I feel we should. I put visual pollution in the
same category as noise pollution. I that prefer boomboxes and bright tents
go where the crowds go and leave the serenity of the backwoods as
undisturbed as we can.

Some folk don't care about the wildlife either, but again I think we should.

Assuming, one does care about birds, one should avoid darker bright pinks
and reds. I have seen humming birds attracted to them -- especially when
the sun hits them in the early morning. I have read that they will fly
great distances to a dark pink, or red -- expending much needed energy in
search of much needed food. Some experts say that such misdirected searches
can be fatal.
