*** Hey, I resent that, truly I do Weary. I appreciate your objective
support of my Trail information posts against the tide of contempt that
passes for community bonding, but this post goes too far. If you think I'm
trying to encourage a discourse on MacKaye and the Trail's forgotten
environmental cause to get attention, then even you yourself probably need to
get a little Trail education too.

I don't feel good at all. I feel rotten. It makes me extremely unhappy
to know that most AT cyber occupiers couldn't care less about investigating
the Trail's past and philosophical origins and feel more enthusiastic
engaging in chat room tit for tat wars and slams. As far as a community that
MacKaye envisioned, Wingfoot was right when he said that there really isn't
any AT community out there as far as the Trail's purpose is concerned
(outside of ATC). Those who claimed they weren't rejecting what WF was doing
but how he did it should try to reconcile why anyone who attempts to install
a sense of Trail environmentalism is set upon and vilified for even trying.
Unlike many regulars in here, I've never called for censorship or openly
ridiculed anyone for posting something AT-on-topic they believed in. To
portray this as democratic will and natural is just intellectual depravity,
anarchy, or just plain dull indifference. I don't see the same passive
acceptance with the environmental will shown by the majority as represented
by the government in acquisition matters...

I honestly believe if MacKaye's original sense of AT motivation which
resulted in the Trail's birth was restored issues like Saddleback could be
assisted. I don't see how what you posted above helps that Weary. Obviously I
respect the topic more than yourself. I'm not censoring, bullying or
dictating to anyone. So, what's the excuse now?
