[at-l] Have I made a pack purchase mistake?

Rent or borrow a pack. Or buy a pack from a company that will allow returns
when used assuming it was not an appropriate choice for you. EMS, REI and
others will do this. The Gregory packs are excellent for their suspensions
and material, but are heavy. You don't have to be an ultralight maven to
benefit from the newer technologies. Mountain Smith, Dana, Kelty and others
make excellent lighter weight packs with plenty of volume to help you
assure you won't be light weight. Use what is most comfortable for you. Do
not expect to be the first hiker to buy only one pack!
