Okay, I will assume the FND is free, bullet proof, invulnerable and 
weightless nonchemical virus filtering thing out there. Back to the 
original question. "Why would I want to filter out viruses? What risk is 
there of viruses in North American streams...?" I suspect that there is no 
valid risk, and the CDC has tended to agree.
