Re[2]: [at-l] Newbie questions

"What about the theory that the footprint should go INSIDE the tent to prevent
water (condensation) from getting your sleeping gear wet?" asks anklebear.

There are a surplus of theorists in this world. A shortage of experienced folks,
mostly because the theorists manage to scare people away. I sleep on a pad --
three-quarter length in summer, full length in winter. I've rarely had my
sleeping gear get wet -- either from condensation or rain. And I've yet to use a
foot print since my $3.95, rip stop coated nylon, single walled floorless tent
finally wore out three decades ago.
