 Of course they have rights. And I've never heard anyone on this list disagree
 with that.

 The disagreement is over public rights, which also exist, as I know perhaps
 better than most, since government once took my house by eminent domain.

 I live on a dead end road. The road was widened to allow people to get to a
 luxury resort a few seconds quicker.

 If that is a legitimate use of government power, surely the purchase of land
 needed for a trail is equally legitimate, at least it is in my mind.
