    I did a lot of this research beore I started the vaccine, but decided to 
go with it based on my own history.  I have a really high tolerance for 
discomfort, (assuming that is going to come in handy on the trail! *G*), and 
half the time I am sick, I don't even know it.  After the initial flu-like 
symptoms, if left untreated, my understanding is that Lyme goes into the 
central nervous system where it can cause all kinds of ugly neurological 
stuff in the future.  In all honesty, I am afraid that I will miss the first 
wave of Lyme!  I know I still have a chance to catch it, but I am a lot less 
likely now.  And, luckily, I haven't had any adverse reaction to the shots 
yet!  Thanks for the info!  Anna
