[at-l] Ticks and Pequots

The vaccine (which I think is being discontinued, it is not listed on
SmithKline Beecham's (now GlaxoSmithKline) website) is only 80% effective.

As of February 25, 2002 the manufacturer announced that the LYMErixT Lyme
disease vaccine will no longer be commercially available. The existing
recommendations apply to any vaccine currently in use.

I know many people who have gotten Lyme more than once (some have had the
vaccine) so getting it provides little if any immunity. I believe the
generally accepted medical advice is to get a few heavy doses of antibiotic
at the first signs. http://www.nytimes.com/2001/06/13/health/13LYME.html

Many people in NY have been seeing ticks all winter as it has been very
mild.
