I've only seen a draft version of Earl's new book that was published only this
month. But if I remember rightly, Wingfoot wrote the introduction. If Earl and
Wingfoot have had a falling out, it must have happened fairly recently. I've
spent considerable time with Earl over the years -- at the trailfests in Hot
Springs, at the Cabin in Andover Maine and at the PA Ruck. I have yet to hear
him speak poorly of Dan Bruce.

However, I'm sure Earl recognizes, like the rest of us, that Wingfoot is human
and has the usual number of human foibles. It's pretty hard for even Dan's best
friends to not recall incidences, from time to time, when he let ego get in the
way of wisdom.
