I don't know if the "Half-Assed Expedtion" journal is still on-line (Red?)
There's a hilarious description of the pair of thru-hikers heading off the
trail to a Ramp Festival somewhere in Tenn (I think), where one of the
thru-hikers wins the ramp eating contest. Some disgusting number like a
hundred ramps in three minutes.   :  O
Then he plants a big wet kiss on the winner of the "Miss Ramp" contest. Bet
she's still gagging....

I also saw a note, probably in another on-line journal, that the oils in
ramps are much more potent that the oils in onions, and that you shouldn't
eat ramps unless you're willing to still be tasting them three days later.
I through them into a dinner somewhere in Tenn, potent little things, but
at least it didn't last three days.
