well he'll probably fill us in when he gets back and get's caught up with 
the honey-dos
but esentially, there had been a HEAVY wet snow the night before and he was
dumped on constantly by tree load .  Enough landed so as to melt down between
his pack and his back that the pressure of pack on back forced the water 
into both.
Wet John and wet everything in the bottom half of his pack.  Lucky the toggs
didn't keep out the water cause when he stopped to put on a dry shirt, he 
discovers
the mess in his pack early enough to hike out rather than freeze in wet clothes
and wet bag.
