At least it was done during legal hunting season and someone got some
benefit out of it.

Usually, such nuisance bears are just euthanized. Nice word that,
euthanized. Sounds so much better than hunted, but it still comes out the
same. The bear learned that humans provide food to its ultimate demise.

Too bad we can't get the feral pigs down here to do the same thing, they are
somewhat smarter than bears though.
